Chris is an award-winning illustrator who went to art school at 16. A sublime draftsman with a penchant for the gothic, he has illustrated the gamut from picture books and young fiction, to theatre posters and satirical cartoons for national newspapers. As well as writing his own fiction, he has teamed up with author Matt Haig for the bestselling A Boy Called Christmas, A Girl Called Christmas and Father Christmas and Me and now has added his talent to The Cosmic Atlas of Alfie Fleet. He lives in Yorkshire with his wife, has two grown-up daughters, and when he’s not drawing and writing, you’ll find him… actually, he’s never not drawing or writing.
Colin is the art director for Illumination Entertainment’s feature animation The Secret Life of Pets and The Grinch. His picture book debut Jack and the Baked Beanstalk got starred reviews for his thoughtful redux of a classic fairy tale and artistic rendering of depression era America. When he’s not creating cinematic worlds and travelling between Los Angeles and Paris, he’ll be in rural Surrey with his wife and labrador. Colin and Martin have worked together for many years, collaborating on The Witches at War series, Germs! and How to Cook Children.
